What is Scrip?

SCRIP are negotiable gift certificates that are used just like cash.

We are not asking you to shop stores you don't normally shop or to spend more than you usually spend. SCRIP is issued by hundreds of local and national vendors where you already shop. Ask yourself if you regularly visit any of the stores, restaurants or gas stations currently on the list. If you do, why not let Faith Lutheran Church benefit from your normal purchase?

An average family of four spends about $500 per month on groceries. At 4% profit, that would be $20 per month for Faith Lutheran Church. Now imagine that 50 families buy their grocery certificates from SCRIP every month. Our profit would be $1,000. That is just for groceries! SCRIP is effective because families are already making these purchases.

Do you shop at Kohl's Department Store? Take advantage of the Kohl's Cares for Kids Card. You can use it like a gift card to make purchases and you can also use it to make payments on your Kohl's charge account. Faith makes 5% profit from the SCRIP Kohl's gift cards.

How does Scrip work?

You choose from the SCRIP order form or master list which merchants and denominations you wish to purchase. You purchase the certificates at face value. $10 of SCRIP costs $10 and can be used to purchase $10 worth of merchandise or service at participating businesses. Depending on the business, Faith makes 2% to 20% on every dollar sold.
